Qualcomm has just revealed a better iteration of its powerful flagship Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform today, and we already have the first smartphone that will boast of this particular CPU. It’s the ASUS ROG Phone 2. That’s great news since even the Snapdragon 855 would have been an upgrade and the 855+ is even better. ASUS has already teased the handset to launch on July 23rd in China.
Gizchina News of the week
The ASUS ROG Phone came in June 2018 with a Snapdragon 845 SoC but what does the SD 855+ bring to the table? Well, let’s say that it’s not only a more powerful Snapdragon 855 but also a better GPU. This makes it the perfect candidate for gaming. Not only does the new silicone offer higher clock speeds of up to 2.96GHz instead of the earlier 2.84GHz, but the Adreno 640 graphics should also deliver a 15 percent speed boost in gaming. This is a rare mid-cycle refresh from Qualcomm. Other teased features of the ROG Phone 2 include a 120Hz display and 30W fast charging. Apart from that, the rumour mill is airtight with no room for leaks right now. We’ve still a week or so to go before launch.
