Long term phone maker, Nokia, now has a super cheap Android One smartphone, Nokia 2.2. This is an entry-level smartphone which will targets markets like India. However, Nokia surprisingly released this smartphone in the UK today for £89 ($111).
Looking at the price of this device, nothing here will impress a smartphone freak, except the price of course. First of all, the Nokia 2.2 comes with a MediaTek Helio A22 processor SoC. It further comes with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of expandable internal storage. This smartphone comes with a 5.71-inch HD+ resolution display. Other aspects include a 3,000 mAh battery, 5W MicroUSB charging, 13MP f/2.2 rear camera, 5MP front camera which supports face unlock and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Nokia 2.2 is an Android One product. This means that it will get two years of operating system upgrades and three years of security patches (built-in Android Pie). It is worth mentioning that Nokia 2.2 also comes with a Google Assistant button. In terms of configuration, this may not be the best low-end smartphone from a “major” manufacturer on the market. The Redmi 7 which sells for $104 seems to offer a better experience. However, this will be a phone to consider for those who have a phobia for Chinese devices.
