Huawei’s sub-brand Honor recently unveiled its first phones to feature pop-up selfie cameras in China. While these devices do not compare to Honor’s flagship offerings, they offer decent specs with aggressive price tags. Starting at 1399 Yuan (~$203), the base model of the Honor 9X is a good match for the Redmi Note 7 Pro, at least in terms of pricing.
Now, it appears the Honor 9X is already sending some trembles to the Redmi team. In apparent reaction to the arrival of the duo, Redmi officially announced a temporary price slash for the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China. With the price cut, the base Redmi Note 7 Pro with 128GB storage now retails for a mere 1399 yuan or about $202 down from 1399 yuan. The price cut is for the time being, but given that the Honor 9X starts at about that price, Honor could as well pin the device’s price at that.

Redmi Note 7 Pro specs
The Redmi Note7 Pro strikes a balance between specs/performance and affordable pricing. So it did not as a surprise when the company announced a while ago that the Redmi Note 7 series has emerged one of its best sellers.
The Note 7 Pro flaunts a 6.3-inch drop screen with a resolution of 2340×1080. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm SD 675 coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a front-facing 13MP camera and a battery capacity of 4000 mAh. Notably, the device has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX568 primary sensor paired with a secondary 5MP camera for depth sensing.
