Redmi has been doing a great job in India and even in China with its Redmi brands of smartphones since it was spun off from Xiaomi. The brand now looks set to having a slice of the TV market currently controlled both in China and India by its parent brand. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing had earlier this week dropped the hint that its company could soon launch a RedmiTV in China.
Gizchina News of the week
While ManagerWeibing only dropped a hint, the first true evidence that a RedmiTV is in the making has surfaced. A certification listing for a Redmi TV by China’s 3C has gone live. The TV has model L70M5-RA, while the listing reveals the Redmi TV production plant is TPV Display Technology (Xiamen) Co., Ltd.
Sadly, China’s 3C isn’t known for revealing details about upcoming products, and this listing isn’t an exception. However, there are speculations the debutant Redmi TV will come in two sizes: 40 inches and 70 inches. Specs, release date, pricing, and other details haven’t been revealed. However, we look forward to a value for money RedmiTV. The Redmi brand focuses on value-for-money smartphones that cut across various segments.
