Huawei’s founder, Ren Zhengfei, has been very available to the media especially after the now relaxed ban by the US. In a recent interview, he reiterated that Huawei’s 5G has no connection with the US. According to him, the company will supply about 600,000 5G equipment this year. By next year, it may reach 1.5 million units.
Regarding the impact of US sanctions on Huawei, Ren Zhengfei said that Huawei has internal estimates. The impact on Huawei’s network connection this year is 2%, and the impact on its terminal services may be even greater. However, the 2% decline in business is mainly due to Huawei’s cut-off. According to Huawei’s founder, the company continues to sign 5G contracts even when the ban was in full force.
