Realme reveals details of the Realme 5 quad-camera setup

As has been the case for many smartphone innovations, the 48mp camera sensor currently seen in a host of smartphones will soon be retired to pave way for more exciting camera innovations. The 64MP camera sensor easily comes to mind as it is expected to make its debut in one or two smartphones soon.

Redmi, Xiaomi, and Samsung at an event in China earlier today revealed details about the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 camera sensor set to bring 64 MP photos to an upcoming Redmi phone. As per the announcement, we should expect to see Redmi/Xiaomi phones capable of clicking 64MP photos in the coming months.

Xiaomi isn’t alone, Realme – the OPPO sub-brand is cooking up a Realme smartphone with the same 64MP camera sensor. The Realme 5, perhaps, will be the first Realme phone to come fitted with the sensor. The firm has an event scheduled for tomorrow August 8th where it will make announcements related to the 6MP camera sensor. But ahead of that, it has released details about the 64 MP main shooter.

Notably, the Realme 5  as per the teaser image released by the brand executive on Twitter looks set to retaining the Realme 3 Pro design with two yellow circles around the main sensor. This perhaps will ensure your subject focuses on the sensor when shooting portrait photo of them. The device will come fitted with a Quad-camera setup consisting of Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1  sensor. It has a 1/1.7 inch sensor size, enabling the same 0.8 micron pixel size as 48MP sensors.

The images seen above reveals the camera shoots clear photos and even retain fine details even when zoomed or cropped. The main sensor is joined by a secondary shooter with super-wide-angle cam with 119-degree FoV and f/2.2 aperture. And of course, there is a third sensor with a dedicated macro lens. The lens will allow you to take photos from up to 4 cm with impressive details.
