There is currently a trend for OEMs to seek for thin and light devices. This is affecting the 3.5 mm headphone jack because it is currently the "scapegoat". Presently, flagship smartphones like Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and P30 Pro have canceled the 3.5mm headphone jack. This is a helpless move by major manufacturers who are trying to create a balance between battery life and thickness. However, Vivo does not seem to be ready to follow the trend to cancel the 3.5 mm headphone jack. It appears that the upcoming Vivo NEX new flagship will retain this feature.
Recently, vivo NEX product manager responded to a question which seeks to know if the new vivo NEX flagship will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. He said, "the 3.5mm headphone jack can be said to be there in the future NEX flagship". This is undoubtedly good news for Vivo fans who want to keep the 3.5 mm headphone jack. It seems that vivo will not adopt the aggressive R&D design of the previous APEX 2019 body which uses a "holeless" body.
At present, Vivo has not officially released more details about the Vivo NEX new flagship. It is said that NEX's new flagship will adopt the waterdrop screen design and will launch an on-screen camera technology. Previously, it was also reported that Vivo has solved the "window effect" problem faced by the on-screen camera technology, and the NEX series new machine is expected to launch this technology.
