Oppo and Huawei are ready to launch their next smartwatches

Despite Apple’s undisputed dominance in the smartwatch market. But we may see a new top-level competitor enter the market by 2020, we are talking about Oppo. And the idea could be anything but freakish. Given that the wearable device sector is constantly on the rise. And the lack of real rivals for the Cupertino giant potentially offers a world that is still unexplored. But it should be with the right strategy.

To open up this new scenario, Shen Yiren – Oppo vice president – spoke on Weibo about the company’s first smartwatch, which should see the light in 2020. Going into more details Yiren commented that the watch will likely come with a rectangular casing. Instead of a circular one for the sake of fitting more information on the screen. In addition, fans can expect to see an Oppo branded pair of noise-canceling wireless earphones before the end of this year.

Even Huawei, however, looks at the smartwatch market with renewed interest, following the announcement of its universal operating system HarmonyOS. The experiments with Wear OS and Lite OS of the past few years have not been memorable. Which is why the Chinese giant could get to work to package a smartwatch equipped with its own operating system for the near future.
