The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will mark the second half in 2019 with their arrival. Early rumors pointed out that the new handset would come with a square-ish camera setup just like its predecessor. However, a new leak comes from the reliable IceUniverse to reveal that the handset will come with a circular module.
A leaked case for the Mate 30 Pro shows a big circular hole for the camera setup coupled by another cutout in the left side for sensors and speakers. Still looking to the case, we can clearly spot one cutout on the bottom for the USB-C connector. When it comes to the top part, there are two small holes for an IR blaster and the noise-canceling microphone. Since last year’s Mate smartphone lacked a 3.5mm headphone jack, it’s safe to assume that neither of these small holes is for the analog connector.
Worth noting that there is a bump on the right side. Usually, that fits for the volume rocker and power key, however, there is one more in the middle and another near the bottom. The latter cutout could be a minuscule hole for a lanyard, the former could be for a voice assistant button or dedicated camera key.
It’s too early to make some assumptions about features coming with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, so we need to wait for more details about it. At least, it’s an undeniable fact that a circular and best-looking camera array will replace the last year’s square-ish design.
