The Indian smartphone market is currently witnessing expansion even as other major global markets are going through a slowdown. And this is also leading to competition like we’ve never seen before. Brands are scampering to get a share of the Indian pie and mid-cycle refreshes are becoming the norm. Xiaomi will soon be launching the Redmi Note 8 (in China) and many Xiaomi handsets in India have been discounted permanently from today including the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
In fact, the Redmi Note 7S (Rs 10,335), Redmi Note 7 Pro (Rs15,099), Redmi 7, and the Redmi Y3₹ 8,999 have all received a price slash of up to Rs. 1,000 in India. The price cuts will be effective starting August 20 which is tomorrow.
Gizchina News of the week
We recently reviewed the Redmi Note 7 Pro and we can definitely say that it is one of the best handsets to have in that price range. It’s got a reliable processor, a great camera, ample battery life and a premium build. Xiaomi has taken care to see that the Redmi Note series remains a household name in India. The Redmi Note 7S is also a good device under Rs 10,000 as it toes the line of its bigger sibling. It also nails the vital specification areas such as processor, camera, battery and design. Not to mention the display.
