South Korean LG mobile is still in the smartphone business despite declining sales figures. The firm is in fact scheduled to drop some devices at the upcoming IFA conference in Berlin in the coming weeks. Ahead of the scheduled event, the brand has today dropped tow devices off its K series of smartphones. Welcome the LG K40s and LG K50s mid-rangers. The firm earlier this week trademarked both monikers and has today officially announced the duo.
Parading a 19.5:9 aspect ratio HD+ FullVision Display, both the LG K40s and LG K50s are MIL-STD-810G compliant that can withstand impact, vibration, high temperature, low temperature, thermal shock, and humidity. They also boast of DTS:X 3D Surround Sound that simulates a 7.1-channel surround sound system to make any content more immersive when playing games, streaming movies or music via earphones.

LG K50s
The K50s is obviously the most advanced of the duo. It gets a larger 6.5” screen with a water-drop notch that is home to a 13MP camera, which is by the way common to both devices. On the flip side, the K50s has a triple camera setup comprising of a 13 MP main shooter, 5 MP ultrawide angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The device is propelled by an unknown 2GHz Octa-Core SoC with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. Furthermore, the device gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication with a dedicated Google Assistant button. Rounding off the specs sheet, the LG K50s has a 4000mAh battery embedded under its hood, while it boots Android Pie out of the box.
LG K40s
The LG K40s, on the other hand, gets a more compact 6.1” screen with HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch for a 13 MP selfie camera. The SoC remains unchanged, but now available in 2GB, 3GB of RAM, with 32GB of storage expandable via microSD slot. On the back, the LG K40s retains the 13 MP main and 5 MP ultrawide angle shooter but drops the 2MP depth sensor making a total of two cameras on the back. The battery is a moderately sized 3500mAh battery.
LG K40s and LG K50s will hit the retail stores later in October. They’ll be available first in Europe, Latin America, and Asia at price points to be announced later.
