Xiaomi’s latest budget contender, the Redmi 7A has just received a new MIUI 10 update with improvements and new interesting features. The camera is receiving a plethora of improvements including Portrait Mode and AI Scene Detection. Moreover, it also includes the July security patch. Which is already a bit outdated for our taste, but it’s better than nothing.
Worth noting that the new portrait mode works on both the 5MP selfie snapper as well as the main 12MP Sony IMX486 camera in the rear. When it comes to the AI scene detection, it features 33 categories separated into 5 profiles. That includes Environment, Scene, Plants, Lifestyle and six India specific modes. In addition to the new features, the update also includes a couple of bug fixes and stability enhancements.

The update is rolling out in a gradual form, so it may take some days to reach all eligible units of the Redmi 7A. You can still flash the new firmware directly from the MIUI Community forum. Head over to the source link where you can find more details about this specific update as well as installation instructions.
The Redmi 7A isn’t a true camera smartphone that will be known by spectacular shots. However, it’s interesting to see Xiaomi adding many features to improve the camera. After all, users of the budget segment also deserve the best performance of their smartphones.
