Microsoft next Surface event scheduled for October 2 in New York

The second half of the year is usually marked by many smartphone launches. However, there’s still room for some other products including PCs and new hardware. The giant behind Windows and the Surface brand, Microsoft, has just scheduled a new event for October 2 in New York.

According to the tech giant, the event will be mainly focused on “Surface hardware”. We’ve been hearing for years about Microsoft’s dual-screen Surface device. Now, we’re in the middle of the year that will be marked by the advent of foldable displays. Seems like the perfect time for Microsoft to unveil the dual-screen Surface. Microsoft enthusiasts are looking forward to this, and while the product’s arrival is scheduled for Q1 2020, the company could be kind giving us a glimpse of the product.

We also expect the Surface Pro 7 which hopefully will come with a USB Type-C port for charging. When it comes to the Surface Laptop, we’ll probably see the unveiling of the third generation. Both devices are expected to lack Thunderbolt 3 something that may be underwhelming for some users.

Continuing the list, there is also the Surface Go that may get its deserved sequel on this year. Finally, the high-end Surface Book would also enjoy some upgrades. We would mention the Surface Headphones, but don’t think that they will be getting a sequel right now.

More details should emerge in the coming weeks. If you’re a Microsoft enthusiast, don’t forget to set a reminder for October 2.
