Although the three major operators in China have not yet started commercial 5G networks, they all are working hard for the corresponding network construction. The United States seems to be in trouble in the construction of 5G. Due to the lack of 5G equipment manufacturers such as Huawei, the United States believes that the US 5G network will be the most expensive and complicated network in American history. Ajit Pai, chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission, has announced that the United States will invest $20.4 billion in 5G infrastructure within 10 years.

There are a few advantages of the millimeter-wave band used in the United States. Say, the bandwidth is large. Also, the spectrum is clean and the interference is small. At last, it can even support the peak rate of up to 20Gbps. However, the disadvantage is that the technology is not mature. Moreover, only the United States wants to use the millimeter-wave band to build 5G. As a result, many 5G devices and smartphones will cost more.
