On August 29, Chinese manufacturer, Redmi, released the Redmi Note 8 series in China. The Pro model of this series has since been in the market. However, the Redmi Note 8 just started pre-sale today. This smartphone comes with a quad-rear camera setup and has a 999 yuan ($140) starting price.
The Redmi Note 8 uses a 6.3-inch full-screen display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. In comparison with the Note 7, the screen ratio increased from 86% to 90%. The Note 8 also comes with a narrower chin and a low-blue Blu-ray certification. In addition, this smartphone features a dual 2.5D Corning’s fifth-generation gorilla. This means that the glass in front and the rear are highly resistant to physical damage. Furthermore, this smartphone uses a four-corner protection design which protects it from splash and other light fluid actions. The Redmi Note 8 will be available in three colors: ochre black, white moon, dream blue.

In the camera department, the Note 8 uses a quad-rear camera setup. The main sensor is a 48MP camera and it is supported by an 8MP super wide-angle, 2MP depth of field and 2MP super macro sensors. Upfront, this smartphone has a 13MP shooter for selfies and it supports AI beauty.
Looking at the hardware, the Note 8 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. This chip is an AI upgrade version of Snapdragon 660. The lights of this smartphone are kept on by a decent 4000 mAh battery which supports 18W fast charge. In addition, we also have a standard with 18W charger in the box.
As for the pricing of this device, the Redmi Note 8 comes in three versions. While the 4GB+64GB version sells for 999 yuan ($140), the 6GB+64GB version and 6GB+128GB versions sell 1199 yuan ($168) and 1399 yuan ($196) respectively.
