The technology giant Google will organize on October 15 its next event “Made by Google” with demonstrations of technology and a great show. It is on this occasion that the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will be officially unveiled. At present, rumors about their design and capabilities are multiplying. We saw a very short video of Pixel 4 at the beginning of the month. Latest information: Nextrift claims to own a pre-production copy of the Pixel 4 XL and has released additional photos and details about the device.
Pixel 4 XL: Face unlock instead of the fingerprint scanner
The device presented is the Clearly White model (the other two options would be Just Black and Oh so Orange). On the photos released by Nextrift, we can see the big square module at the back that hosts the camera sensors and we’ve been talking about for quite some time already. A radical change is therefore expected in terms of rear design compared to the Pixel 3 XL released last year.

Another noticeable change is the absence of the fingerprint scanner. The new Face Unlock unlocking process is based on facial scanning. It asks users to position their heads in a circle. Options include the ability to connect to apps to verify the phone owner’s identity for mobile payments, to directly access the last screen used after unlocking, or to enable a setting.
Recall that the device has a 6.23-inch AMOLED screen at 90Hz with a feature called Smooth Display. The Pixel 4 XL is equipped with Snapdragon 855 with 6 GB of memory. With 128 GB of storage, a 12.2 MP main camera and a battery with a battery capacity of 3700 mAh. Not to be confused with the 855+ SoC, which is more powerful, but was not chosen.
