Yesterday, Xiaomi unveiled the MIX Alpha and the Mi 9 Pro 5G. The third important announced wasn’t a smartphone, but is directly involved with the future of all Xiaomi smartphones. The company took the wraps off its future Android-skin update – MIUI 11. Along with the announcement, the Chinese giant published a list of smartphones getting the update, but the 2018’s hit, Pocophone F1 wasn’t present in that list.
Pocophone F1 owners and enthusiasts went crazy after noticing that their handset wasn’t present on that list. The handset was one of the greatest surprises of 2018, bringing the flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC to an impressively low price. Even in 2019, the smartphone remains a solid contender. For that reason, the handset more than deserves an update to MIUI 11.
Gizchina News of the week
Pocophone F1 fans, rejoice! The Head of Pocophone Global, Alvin Tse, took to Twitter and revealed that the list shared by Xiaomi only includes the devices sold in China. Pocophone F1 isn’t available in China, so it wasn’t on it, but it will still get the MIUI 11 update. He further mentions, that since the MIUI 11 stable release will come in Mid-October, the Global update may come a few time later, perhaps in November.
POCO Fans, please don’t worry. We will get MIUI 11 when it rolls out globally. #POCOF1

Those are definitively great news for the Pocophone F1 owners. Some of them are ready to keep the smartphone for one more year, and since it was a great hit, Xiaomi wouldn’t be crazy to left it without a proper update to MIUI 11. Considering that the F1 is part of Xiaomi’s Android Q beta program, it’s safe to assume that upcoming MIUI 11 will be based on the new Android 10.
