Mi Mix Alpha

During this week Xiaomi released MIUI 11, the revamped Mi 9 Pro 5G and its most innovative MIX smartphone so far – The Mi Mix Alpha. The smartphone comes with a whopping 180.6% screen ratio which is the first in the industry. The premium handset isn’t a foldable smartphone, neither uses a waterfall display. Instead, it ships with a display that wraps around the fuselage. It covers both the front, sides and much of the rear. The only space left is for the whopping 108MP camera setup on the rear.

The handset will only be available in the market in December. So while we are waiting, the Chinese giant decided to publish a small unboxing video. If you’re particularly interested in Xiaomi’s new innovative product you can have a quick glimpse through this small video below:

Gizchina News of the week

The Mi Mix Alpha is packed inside a luxurious black box with the “alpha” logo. Alongside the smartphone, there is a fast-charger and the corresponding cable. Since this smartphone only boasts a USB Type-C port, there is a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle to help you to use your standard headphones. Last but not least, it includes a protective film that is molded for this unique handset.  By the looks of it, it’s of the wallet type and covers mostly the front display and the frame.

The Mi Mix Alpha is surely an ambitious bet from the Chinese giant. According to a report, the entire development took 2 years. Let’s see how Smartphone bet will succeed against the foldable smartphone bandwagon.
