Xiaomi Working on Redmi Note 8T, to Come with SD 730G

Redmi Note 8 Pro

Last month, Xiaomi launched its eighth iteration of Redmi Note lineup in the Chinese market. The Redmi Note 8 series consists of two smartphones namely Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note Pro. The former comes with Snapdragon 660 while the latter packs in Helio G90T chipset. It seems like the company is now working on the next family member of the lineup. This time we’re looking at Redmi Note 8T which is expected to run on the Snapdragon 730G SoC.

This report is coming directly from a tipster who goes by the name Mukul Sharma (aka @stufflisting). For those who’re unaware, Mukul has a pretty decent previous record when it comes to leaks. According to his recent tweet, Xiaomi is, in fact, working on another smartphone called Redmi Note 8T. The device could be the iterative update of the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone. The Snapdragon 730G chipset is a much more powerful than the Helio G90T thanks to higher clock speed and better performance.

Apart from the chipset, we don’t have much information on the device as of now. If the report turns out to be true, we can expect more details coming our way in the coming days. On the other hand, Realme is also planning to launch Realme XT 730G later this year with Snapdragon 730G. There is a high chance that Xiaomi is working on this device to rival the Realme XT 730G. Furthermore, the device could also be an SD730G variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. We can expect the device to come with similar specifications except for quad-camera setup and chipset of course. It still remains to be seen whether the smartphone maker will go with the Redmi Note 8 Pro’s 48MP sensor or regular Note 8 camera for the primary sensor. Well, we might get an answer in the coming months.
