Oppo’s sub-brand Realme which was unveiled in the last year is already a hit in India. The brand is starting to build in China and across Western markets, however, the Indian market still is its main goal. Realme’s latest achievement was becoming the best-selling smartphone brand on Flipkart in the months of June, July and August this year. Oppo’s subsidiary accounted for over 40% of smartphone sales at the online retailer. It’s three times more than Xiaomi.
To celebrate this achievement, Realme and Flipkart are running a promo campaign. They’ve already sold 1 million smartphones through this “Festive Days” event. That’s no coincidence, after all, Realme is offering big discounts across the whole lineup.
Gizchina News of the week
Realme’s success in India doesn’t come by chance. The company has been offering a lot of interesting features across smartphones from different price ranges. The company was among the first to deliver a full-screen smartphone with a pop-up camera for an affordable price. It was one of the first to bring the Snapdragon 7xx series to the mid-range segment. Now, the company is set to go beyond bringing an affordable Realme X2 Pro with a Snapdragon 855+ chipset. We know that Xiaomi already has the K20 Pro in India with the SD855 SoC, but we really believe that the Realme X2 Pro pricing will be more aggressive, something like the last year’s Poco F1.
There’s more – if you buy a Realme phone today, you can get the Complete Mobile Protection for INR 1. This is because CMIR Mobile Industry Consumer Insights rated Realme the #1 Quality Smartphone Brand in September.
