Just days ago, Xiaomi China’s brand promotion manager, Edward Bishop was quoted to have issued a statement that many interpreted to mean that the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 isn’t coming anytime soon. In his statement, the manager was quoted to have said there is only the Mi Mix Alpha and no other Mi Mix smartphone (not even the Mi Mix 4) coming our way this year. That essentially shut down the expectations of its fans World over who have keenly awaited the arrival of the Mi Mix 4.

Well, it appears we largely misconstrued the brand manager. The same manager has now issued a formal statement refuting the claim. Apparently, Edward thinks he was misinterpreted by some individual, perhaps for traffic gain. In an early morning statement today, the Xiaomi exec stated that he never confirmed there won’t be a Mi Mix4 this year. He also did not confirm the fact that the Mi Mi4 is in the works. Take a look at the screenshot below for his full statement.
While the statement seems vague, it looks quite glaring that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is under development, and could see the light of the day soon. Perhaps, the Mi Mix4 launch might happen before December, if not sooner than that. Popular tipster Ice Universe a few days after the launch of the Mi Mix Alpha hinted that a real Mi Mix4 with a 108MP sensor could be launching soon.
