There are also reports that the company will release a 5G smartphone with Samsung’s Exynos 980 5G SoC. Vivo may be the first company to bet on this new chipset. The Exynos 980 is the first mid-range chipset that integrates a 5G modem. It’s an 8nm chip featuring 2x Cortex-A77 cores plus 6 x A55 cores. Furthermore, it comes with the Mali-G76 MP5 GPU and features an NPU. Next year should be a lot more promising for 5G since we expect cheaper 5G chips and devices. Qualcomm already promised to bring 5G connectivity to the mid-range sector.
