According to recent reports, American manufacturing giant, Apple, officially issued a warning to users of old iOS devices. According to the company, from November 3, the GPS positioning, time and date of many old iOS devices may malfunction. Apple issued this warning mainly for iPhone 5 and earlier models as well as iPad 4 and earlier models. In other words, iPhone 5 or iPad 4 users need to upgrade to iOS 10.3.4 at least. In addition, older devices need to upgrade to iOS 9.3.6 to avoid problems.

Apple officially said: “Users using older devices need to update their devices to the latest iOS version by November 3 to ensure their GPS, date and time are up and running. If the user does not update to the device before November 3, some older models may not be able to perform accurate GPS positioning”. In addition, iOS devices that do not update before November 3, 2019 might not be able to receive over-the-air software updates. In this case, a viable way to update the system will be to restore in iTunes or Finder via a tethered connection.
After updating your device, go to Settings > General > About > Software Version (look for the number. The version should be 10.3.4 or 9.3.6, depending on your device.
