As it is OPPO’s flagship product line, the Find X series represents the highest aesthetic standards for the Chinese phone maker. OPPO themselves also previously said that “The Find X explores more possibilities of design and aesthetics, and further explores the ultimate in comprehensive screen design, bringing the dual enjoyment of technology and art”. Today we learn they weren’t the only ones to think that about the smartphone, China’s Patent Awards committee did indeed confirm it by giving them the more important award of the event.

Aside, from the stunning design, the Find X brought many innovations. When it launched it was the most expensive phone on the market; it had a screen to body ratio of 93.8%; it was the first Android device with a 3D face scanner; plus it was the first Android phone using COP (chip on plate) packaging technology.

But the real exciting feature about the phone was probably its sliding mechanism. The OPPO Find X did indeed come with hidden front cameras and sensors that would pop up from behind the display when needed. In the slider we’d then find 16MP and 20MP sensors to snap high quality selfies. In addition to that, we also had the 3D scanner which would unlock the phone almost instantly.
