Huawei released the Honor Play in the last year as a gaming flagship smartphone. It was the first smartphone to come with the company’s GPU Turbo technology, a couple of software tools to enhance performance while gaming. The feature was brought to Honor and Huawei smartphones after the Honor Play. Moreover, many companies replicated the feature among their handsets. The supporters of this gaming series of Honor smartphones have been waiting for a successor this year. However, Huawei released the Honor Play with a Kirin 710 that isn’t on par with the Kirin 970 in the Honor Play. Unfortunately, this is not the worst news for Honor Play owners, especially for waiting for EMUI 10 update.
Honor Play won’t receive Android 10-based EMUI 10 update
A tweet from the Honor India account revealed that the 2018 Smartphone won’t receive EMUI 10 update. The latest version of EMUI would also upgrade the smartphone to Android 10. A user asked if the Android 10 update will arrive for the Honor Play soon, the official Honor India account replied that the “…..EMUI 10.0/Android Q will not be available” for the phone due to “hardware limitations” as it requires “higher hardware specifications for optimal performance”.
