HongMeng OS is Huawei’s self-developed system also known as Harmony OS. According to the Chinese manufacturer, it will take 2 to 3 years to get this system on the same level as iOS. Recently, Huawei’s CEO, Ren Zhengfei, talked about the relationship between HongMeng and Android. In the interview, Ren Zhengfei said that HongMeng system “does not have any problem with its ability but it won’t be a replacement for Android. We will continue to support the development of Android.”

According to him, the impact of the US ban on the company is reducing. Previously, Ren Zhengfei that the ban may cause the company to lose $20 – $30 billion this year. However, in this latest interview, that figure dropped to $10 billion. For Huawei’s CEO, the ban is not going away anytime soon. “I don’t think (US) will remove Huawei from the list of entities soon. However, we are optimistic and open to any sort of discussion.”
Huawei recently released its Q3 quarterly and January-September revenue data last week. In the first three quarters, its revenue exceeded 610.8 billion yuan ($86 billion), a year-on-year increase of 24.4 %. So far, it has shipped 185 million smartphone shipments, an increase of 26% year on year.
