Apple’s 2020 iPhones will use smaller notch and a USB Type-C interface


In recent times, there have been a couple of reports regarding the upcoming iPhones. Popular Apple analysts, Guo Minghao has reported that the 2020 iPhones will come with a smaller notch and will also adopt a wider 5G antenna design. Recently, Ben Geskin revealed on Twitter that Apple’s 2020 iPhones will replace its traditional Lightning interface with a USB Type-C port.

Ben Geskin said that Apple is currently testing a variety of styles of Face ID models, and some Face ID schemes have adopted a narrower design to fit the top border of the iPhone (but not completely without a notch). At the same time, he also said that Apple is modifying the antenna configuration of the 2020 iPhone to support the upcoming 5G. In addition, the 5G antenna on the iPhone will be wider (> 1 mm) and will use new materials. Furthermore, he said that Apple’s 2020 iPhones will use the USB Type-C interface to promote wireless charging.

According to Guo Minghao, Apple is testing a model with a 6.7-inch display, Face ID and TrueDepth camera system in the top frame.
