Today, at Huawei’s 5G conference, the company officially released the Huawei Mate X foldable phone for the first time in China. The company also released the 5G versions of Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. As of now, these smartphones are already available for sale in China. After the arrival of the Mate X, salient information about this smartphone is beginning to hit the web. The latest report shows that the Huawei Mate X uses BOE’s foldable AMOLED display.

The likes of Samsung and LG are more popular with AMOLED displays but the Mate X chose a Chinese supplier. BOE is the largest OLED panel manufacturer in China. The company officially confirmed that it is the supplier of the Mate X AMOLED display. In addition, BOE also mentioned that it has shipped 10 million flexible OLED panels in the first half of this year. It currently has an 18% market share and ranks second in the world.
Huawei Mate X was first released at the MWC show in February this year. It uses a foldable display and originally comes with a Kirin 980 SoC + Balong 5000 5G baseband. However, the current Mate X uses the latest Kirin 990 5G chip.
