Realme, which came into existence as a sub-brand of Oppo is now an independent brand itself, under the huge umbrella of BBK electronics. Since the beginning, their smartphones have been using ColorOS. However, since a little while, Realme started adding their customizations into the mix. And now, the company’s Indian CEO, Madhav Seth confirms ColorOS 7 for Realme smartphones will be customized to give near-stock Android look.

A couple of months back, Realme started recruiting beta testers for their so-called Project X. This beta software was thought to be the long-rumoured RealmeOS. However, nothing such released so far and even the company itself remained silent on this matter. Madhav Seth, the CEO of Realme India regularly posts videos on YouTube every month where he answers the questions asked by the users on social media and Realme Community. In the October Diwali festive edition of the video, he reveals that Realme phones will continue using ColorOS and the upcoming ColorOS 7 will be customized for Realme smartphones to give near-stock Android experience.
We are not sure how stock Android the upcoming ColorOS 7 for Realme smartphones will look like. But an alternative to ColorOS is a great step initiated by the company to differentiate its products from smartphones from Oppo.
