In addition to the slow-mo video mode, the new build also introduces Auto-Hotspot. The name is self-explanatory, it’s a quick way to share your mobile connection with nearby devices logged in the same Samsung account. The changelog also mentions improvements made in the device’s fingerprint scanner. The ultrasonic sensor has been in the headlines during the past days due to a security flaw. It basically allowed any finger to unlock a cheap silicon glass protector is covering the screen. The sensor recognizes the dot-pattern in the screen protector, allowing any touch in the display’s sensor to unlock the handset.

Besides the improvements, the update adds a Media and Device buttons to the notification shade. It’s a quick and easy way to control devices that are connected to the handset like TVs, Bluetooth Speakers and more. Currently, the update is rolling only for devices in Germany and Switzerland. However, we believe that Samsung will expand the rollout in the coming days.
