Xiaomi TV and MIUI gets a two-month earthquake warning system


At the Xiaomi Developers Conference 2019, Xiaomi and Chengdu High-tech Disaster Reduction Institute jointly released a special announcement. They said that the two-month earthquake warning system has been officially launched on Xiaomi MIUI and Xiaomi TV. This makes Xiaomi the world’s first mobile phone + consumer AIoT platform that operates a system-level access earthquake warning. This function is jointly developed by Xiaomi and Chengdu High-tech Disaster Reduction Research Institute. It will open up R&D experience to global peers free of charge.

The earthquake warning feature uses a pop-up box to send a reminder to users. It reminds users when the network detects an impending earthquake that could cause strong ground shaking. It will also identify the seismic wave location, epicenter area, and the magnitude of the earthquake. Furthermore, after the warning countdown is over, an emergency help service will be provided. Finally, on the MIUI 11 system, you can access this feature by entering the App – Mobile butler – family care -earthquake warning. On Xiaomi TV, it supports select areas.
