Samsung hasn’t had a very good track record with respect to mid-tier or even low-tier smartphones, in terms of software updates. Google had already released Android 10 back in September but none of Samsung’s phones run a stable build of the latest Android OS. However, unlike last year, Samsung has started the beta program for One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 a month earlier and that’s truly an improvement over the past years. The company is yet to announce the list of eligible devices for One UI 2.0 but thanks to Samsung Members App from Israel, we now know the brand’s Android 10 update schedule, as Sammobile points out.
According to a notice on Samsung Members App Israel, a total of 28 devices will be receiving the One UI 2.0 update based on Android 10. But sadly, the rollout will only begin from January 2020 with Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, and Galaxy Note 9 series. Other mid-range smartphones under Galaxy A series, Galaxy J series, Galaxy Tabs, and the 2018 Galaxy S9 series are scheduled to receive the update from April 2020. Do note that these are early estimated periods and hence some of them could also receive the update earlier or maybe even later.
Here is the completed list of 28 devices from Samsung that are eligible for One UI 2.0 updated based on Android 10.
