Earlier this year, Huawei announced its much-awaited foldable smartphone dubbed Huawei Mate X. The smartphone initially runs on the Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.1 out-of-the-box. It seems like the device has now started receiving the latest Android 10 software update. Recently, the President of Huawei Consumer BG Software Department, Wang Chenglu, announced that the Huawei Mate X foldable phone is now getting the EMUI 10 Beta update.
As expected, this is currently in beta stages meaning you will come across numerous bugs. Interested participants can access this beta update through “Pollen Club” > “Recommendation” > “Internal Beta Registration” > “Register Now”. Since this is the beta update, we will recommend taking a complete backup of the device. As of now, the company has now revealed the official stable update roadmap.

Huawei Mate X: Specs, Features
The Huawei Mate X is the company’s first foldable phone. After a couple of delays, the company finally released this device with some display enhancements. The new screen form supports smart split-screen. This enables this device to perform multi-tasking operations simultaneously. Dual tasks run simultaneously and this opens up a new interactive operating system. Not only that, Mate X’s innovative flexible screen materials and its eagle-wing folding design bring a tablet-like wide open vision.
The display hinge design is internally developed and gives this phone an elegant folding geometry. When folded, the Mate X takes the shape of a regular 6-inch device. However, it can be expanded up to 8-inch to give a tablet-like operating experience. The Mate X uses a resolution of 2480 × 2200 and it comes with a Kirin 980 processor + Balong 5000 5G SoC. However, some units use the Kirin 990 5G chip which integrates the 5G SoC. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It uses a 40MP ultra-sensitive sensor + 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor + 8MP telephoto lens + a TOF sensor. This smartphone has a 4500 mAh battery.
