Back in October, Vivo announced the iQOO Neo with Snapdragon 855. Now, according to several leaks and reports, the Chinese firm is gearing up to unveil a new variant of the handset with the newer Snapdragon 855+. It will be the second Vivo iQOO smartphone to ship with Qualcomm’s latest SoC offering. The first one was the Vivo iQOO Pro.
The iQOO Neo 855+ has passed through TENAA and Master Lu revealing its design and specs. We also got a glimpse of the smartphone through Android Enterprise listing. Now, it was time for the flagship handset to pass through AnTuTu Benchmark. It leaves no doubt about the chipset inside the upcoming smartphone. We don’t know which kind of strategy Vivo will use with the Neo 855+ to avoid competition with the iQOO Pro, but it is an undeniable fact that this handset will boast the overclocked version of Snapdragon 855.
Gizchina News of the week
Vivo iQOO Neo 855+ may debut before the end of December
Besides the Snapdragon 855+ confirmation, the benchmark platform confirms 12GB of RAM and 128GB of RAM. So we are in for a true flagship handset. Moreover, Vivo isn’t concerned with the fact that it will pack the same amount of RAM found in the iQOO Pro. The Benchmark listing further confirms that Android 9 Pie and FHD+ resolution are in tow. According to TENAA, this smartphone will feature a 6.38-inch display with an in-fingerprint scanner beneath. We assume that Vivo will stick with an AMOLED panel.
Regarding the benchmark tests, the iQOO Neo 855 scored 503,734 points in the platform. Interestingly enough, this score is higher than most other Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered smartphones. We still don’t know what strategy Vivo will use with this new smartphone. Perhaps it will be a new upgraded variant of the iQOO Neo that will only reach certain markets. After all, the Vivo iQOO Pro which has the same chipset still is a relatively new handset.
Considering the number of leaks, and TENAA’s certification we shouldn’t be too far from an official release.
