Huawei is close to first place in the world ranking despite the US ban

Despite the American ban, Huawei continues to progress on the global ranking of smartphone sales. The Chinese group is getting closer to Samsung in particular thanks to very strong growth in China.

Since the beginning of the year, the forecasts are not looking good for Huawei. The Chinese manufacturer, who had the ambition to become the world number one in smartphones by 2020, had to undergo a major setback with the American ban.

In fact, it seems that the crisis that the Chinese giant has been going through since mid-May is only slowing an apparently major progression. Indeed, while Huawei managed to climb to second place on the podium by passing Apple, the Chinese group continues its progression in 2019. According to the market analysis institute Strategy Analytics, taken over by the Korea Herald, Huawei continues to narrow the gap with the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, Samsung.

Huawei: A gap of only 3.6% of market share with Samsung

Huawei was able to market 251 million smartphones in 2019, with 17.7% market share. A big increase compared to 14.4% market share in 2018. At the opposite, Samsung marketed 323 million, for 21.3% market share. Finally, Apple only marketed 193 million iPhones in 2019, with a 13.6% market share.

If Huawei may have suffered from the American ban decision since May. It must be said that the Chinese group has been able to strengthen considerably in its country. In China, Huawei went from 23% of market share in the third quarter of 2018. To 40% in the same period in 2019. An increase which is explained in particular by a marketing budget that exploded in the country in order to face a foreseeable slowdown in Europe.

If Huawei’s ambition was to become world number one in smartphones in 2020, the group has finally reviewed its expectations. But it still plans to take the lead but in the longer term. So what do you think? write to us your opinion in the comments box below.

Me and many of my friends bought Huawei mate 30 pro simply because we are resisting continue bullying from US president and US politicians. It turns that Huawei phone is much better than Samsung and Apple. Thanks to Trump otherwise we would never knew how good Huawei is until we use it.

  Thanks to Trump? Trump made it alot worse since he ban the phones. 90 days after ban Android will no longer update Huawei phones. Huawei buys a lot of products from the US such as gorilla glass, flash memory etc. I do agree Huawei are awesome phones. I don’t see them succeeding in the future.

guys.. if u want to show support for huawei and f**k america, you should buy support and buy huawei when they need it most: the future phone when they use harmonyOS. show your support for them.. i want to see how you live with those OS for a year lol.. and dont use google maps playstore etc.. good luck with that.

I love Huawei…have a Nexus 6p since 2015. But don’t for a minute think or blame Trump for anything, he is right. Huawei is partnered with Chinese government Intelligence and they are stealing intellectual property. In America, we are allowed to decide if we want our personal info shared with foreign Intelligence and when you’re talking about Trillions of USD….then outside opinions mean very little. Of course most of you live in countries where the only news is what they tell you and not what’s actually happening. Good for Huawei, even better for America.

  Since Huawei buys a lot of from US companies to use in their phones shush as gorilla Glass, flash memory, Android, etc. Huawei bought $12 billion worth American made products. I know Trump is creating new jobs. Can I blame Trump for taking away American jobs?

China and USA will eventually be ENEMY in the future. So DECOUPLING of both economies is for the best because when they do, the effect will be minimal to both countries. Democracy and Communist shall never be friends. They are fundamentally so different.

Unfortunately when trade practice is unfair as a country and it expert advisors it’s what needs to be done in order to negotiate the issues that are priorities. it will always work out in the end. I will still buy Huawei cell phones and vote for President Trump.

Thank GOD, there were still enough true Americans left in this country who remembers how nice it was before all the Liberal, sick and twisted ways was brainwashed into the weak or younger generations. WE, TRUE AMERICANS, LIKE THE ONES WHO FOUNDED THIS COUNTRY, ELECTED PRESIDENT TRUMP AGAINST ALL ODDS, JUST TO KEEP FROM HAVING TO KILL MILLIONS OF IGNORANT LIBERALS IN A CIVIL WAR. If the Democrats manage to hack into the system and make it appear as though they won the election in 2020 it isn’t going to be pretty. We have tried to be passive for way too long. We are Americans and we are not giving up our way of life just so a bunch of weirdos who don’t believe in God can have a country that they didn’t have to spill their blood to obtain.
The Liberals and Socialist should seriously think this through. The best of it is Trump never knew that he was campaigning for Huawei Smartphone which has dominated all over the world. Huawei, is the best than iPhone and apple phone from America. No body could tell that China Telecom company would for sure produce such wonderful and best gadget like Huawei Phones.

I had always been a samsung user since galaxy note 2. I had never gave Huawei a second thought until uncle sam started to make a big huhah about it. So, I started checking out Huawei since late 2018. Today, my family and I are Huawei phone and accessory users. Its easier on my purse, faster, much less bloatwares that i cannot uninstall, and Huawei send me flowers with a thank you card.
Huawei flourishes because of US ban, not despite of.

I’ve been using Huawei for the past six years, and moving forward, should I have to use a Huawei device without Google… Why not, in this day and age there are alternatives to almost every app on your device, will just take a little getting use to, I already use a different email to Gmail, changed my default browser away from chrome, use an alternative to Google maps and I’m happy not to be bombarded with Google ads and tracking, so?…a Google-less phone is not the end of the world, just the start of something new…. And in my opinion… Change is as good as a holiday.

Good work huawei keep up the good work as I think that Huawei phone are a lot better then that toy that apple made and looks to me that no one likes the toy phone that apple made and it crap no good any more no worth the money as apple have scamed people to pay more for there things and the have done everything on the cheap the sell around the world at a high price bang out of order no phone is worth lots of money that were apple lose as Huawei pbones are the top dog now way to go huawei proud of you guy well done bring on 2020 good year for only huawei and Samsung to big awesome company very happy that the iPhone is now dead yours Darryl Lewis
