Recently, Bharti Airtel, one of India’s biggest telecom operator rolled out VoWiFi service in the country’s capital, Delhi. The service is currently supported by only 24 smartphones, out of which two belong to Xiaomi – the Redmi K20 series and POCO F1. Xiaomi enabled this feature just after Airtel rolled out the service, as per a BGR report.
The Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro (review), and Poco F1 are the only flagship-grade smartphones sold by Xiaomi in India. And thus, as part of Aitel’s initial batch of VoWiFi-enabled devices, Xiomai has updated these phones to support the service. If you are using any of these devices and use an Airtel SIM living in Delhi NCR region, you can use the VoWiFi service on your device if you also happen to have Airtel broadband at your place. Which means even though you have these phones with an Airtel SIM, you will not be able to use the WiFi calling service if you do not have Airtel broadband connection.

That being said, if you have all the necessary requirements, make sure to update your phone to MIUI 11. Then, go to Settings -> SIM Card & Networks -> Airtel SIM and enable VoLTE. Once you have enabled VoLTE, then again go to Settings -> SIM Card & Networks -> Airtel SIM and turn on ‘Make calls using WiFi’. That’s it, now you can use WiFi calling on your Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro or POCO F1 after restarting it.
