Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is trying so hard to keep its smartphone business together. After the ban by the US, its smartphone business was expected to experience a setback. However, that has not been the case. Huawei’s smartphone business is doing quite well and it is actively chasing Samsung to the top spot. According to a report by Tencent Technology, at a recent internal Huawei conference, Huawei Consumer Business CEO, Yu Chengdong, revealed that Huawei’s global smartphone shipments will be around 230 million units this year.

It is worth mentioning that more than a month ago, Huawei officials announced that its global smartphone shipments exceeded 200 million units. This is about two months faster than last year.
“We can hit 230 million units for the whole year. The actual figure will depend on the sprint in the last month. Apple is now behind us”. Yu Chengdong said.
According to predictions, Huawei’s mobile phone shipments for this year would be 250 million units. Bank of America estimates that global iPhone shipments will reach 202 million units in 2020 and this year will not be higher than this number. Perhaps it could even be lower than 200 million units. Last year, Huawei shipped 206 million mobile phones. According to a preliminary estimate of 230 million units, this year’s growth rate has reached 12%.
