MIUI 11 is testing a new colour management function

The stable version of Xiaomi MIUI 11 started rolling out in mid-October. While Xiaomi is preparing this update for more devices, it is also adding some new MIUI 11 features. As of now, 27 Xiaomi phones are receiving either the stable or beta version of MIUI 11 on top of Android 10. According to XDA Forum, Xiaomi is “testing a new advanced display calibration feature in the software which will give users more control over how their device’s screen looks.”

The new colour management function provides four colour mode selections. These include enhanced, original, P3, and sRGB. Users can also individually control the RGB value, hue, saturation and other parameters of the colour.

In the setting interface, users can view the color setting results through the preview picture at the top. This makes it convenient for users to observe and compare. In addition, it also provides options to discard changes and restore the default. It’s unclear when this colour management feature will officially launch. However, it is currently available on the hidden settings page in the MIUI 11 beta.

In addition to colour management, XDA also previously discovered new features such as MIUI 11’s planned sky-high video annotation, document ID scanning, and support for HEIC / HEIF format.
