Oppo has made official the Reno 3 smartphone series made up of two models during the Christmas break. The basic variant and the Pro variant. They differ mainly in the SoC, the display (diagonal and curved or flat edges). the solution used to integrate the front camera, and the rear camera compartment. Reno 3 uses the Mediatek Dimensiy 1000L platform, Reno 3 Pro uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G: both have the integrated 5G modem.
Regarding the Oppo Reno 3, the front camera stands out, inserted in a traditional teardrop notch, while the bigger brother Pro places the same module inside the hole drilled on the panel. The AMOLED screens are 6.4 “(with flat edges for Reno 3) and 6.5” (with curved edges for Reno 3 Pro), in both cases with FHD+ resolution and integrated fingerprint sensor.
There are memory configurations with 8 or 12GB and 128 or 256GB depending on the model. The camera compartment is different, which in the case of the basic model provides a 64MP main module, combined with a wide-angle one and two sensors for black and white shots and portraits. In the case of the Pro variant, on the other hand, the 48MP main module is combined with one ultra wide-angle, one telephoto lens and the last monochrome.
The batteries have a capacity of 4,025 mAh (Reno 3) and 4020 mAh (Reno 3 Pro) respectively and VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging is supported. The operating system is Android 10 with the ColorOS 7.0 interface.
Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro will be available in China starting December 31 in black, white and blue. There is also a special Classic Blue Pantone 2020 colorway dedicated to the Reno 3 Pro which will be available starting January 10th.
