Samsung will unveil new “Artificial Human” Neon at CES 2020

Samsung is gearing up to reinvent everything we know about smart assistants in the next year. At least, that’s what the company is promising with the premise of a new “Artificial Human” intelligence in the form of Neon. Samsung’s first attempt with a smart assistant to compete with the likes of Google Assistant came in the form of Bixby. The company’s AI solution debuted in 2017 in the Galaxy S8 and since then came in a myriad of Samsung smartphones.

Now, more than two years later, the company will unveil a new AI-powered product, dubbed Neon, at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 next month. Details are still scarce about Neon, however, we know that is been developed by Samsung and Advanced Research Lab (STAR Labs), with Pranav Mistry at the helm as President and CEO of the unit. Mistry is well known for his work on SixthSense and Galaxy Gear. However, he also served as the Global Vice President of the company.

“NEON is NOT about Bixby”

Moreover, Samsung wants to avoid any misunderstanding with Bixby. The company states that Neon isn’t a new advanced version of Bixby. It’s a brand new thing. According to a couple of teasers shared on the official site and social media handles, Neon appears to be an AI-Powered digital human. For instance, it will replicate the emotions and intelligence of us, real humans. Have you ever seen the movie “Her” starring Joaquin Phoenix? Apparently, we’re giving the first steps into this new reality.

Samsung even posted a few images on Twitter with the question “Have you ever met an ‘ARTIFICIAL’?” in five different languages. It’s a good hint that Neon will come with multilingual support to interact with many users in the globe. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait much for more details about Neon, since CES 2020 is just 10 days away.

There we will get a couple more details about Neon. We believe that we’ll only see its debut by the time of the Galaxy S11 series launch.
