According to PatentlyApple, a “gaming-grade” Mac product may arrive in 2020, focusing on e-sports. This device may be a large-screen all-in-one iMac or a large-screen gaming notebook. According to the report, this e-sports-centric PC next year could sell for up to $ 5,000. This will be the first time that Apple will try out the e-sports PC field. If Apple enters into the e-sports PC field, this will mean new business opportunities for relevant supply chain manufacturers. While this rumor seem to be a long shot, this is a fresh field for Mac products to explore. It will also encourage PC and console developers to put macOS on par with Windows and console release dates.

In response to this rumor, WCCFTECH believes that Apple faces many difficulties in entering e-sports. First, there are limited games that can run on macOS. In addition, Apple’s Mac family relies on specific AMD graphics cards, which were not designed with gaming in mind. If the message is true, the company should offer new configuration options.

Recall that the Apple Arcade arrived this year thus there are speculations that the company could try the high-end gaming field. Apple Arcade is a game subscription service with over 100 exclusive games as well as subscription games on iPadOS and tvOS 13. Presently, all Apple products can access Arcade whether through mobile phones, tablets or laptops.
