Apple just announced a new free service for those who want to purchase a pair of AirPods or AirPods Pro. It’s indeed now possible to engrave emojis on the accessory if you so desire.

Previous to today, Apple allowed buyers to engrave a message on their new AirPods’ case, but it was limited to text. Starting today, it’ll instead be possible to also engrave a whole bunch of emojis, albeit you can only choose between the ones provided by Apple.

As a matter of fact, not all emojis you usually find on iOS are available; but that shouldn’t be too big of a problem as we find a large variety of smiley faces, hand gestures, unicorns, bears, skulls, dragons, snakes and even the poop emoji.

Another downer is that users have to pick between text or emojis; you cannot have both. That’s probably due to the emojis having a predetermined bigger size compared to text.

The products that support emoji engraving include the latest AirPods Pro, the AirPods with wireless charging case and the AirPods with the simple charging case. Obviously, the service is available only if you purchase from Apple’s official website.

Specs wise, everything stays the same on the AirPods Pro. Which means we find a H1 chip with active noise cancellation; up to 4.5 hours of listening time (on one charge); ā€œHey Siriā€ always on;Ā  sweat and water resistant and more than 24 hours of listening time (with Wireless Charging Case).

Meanwhile the basic AirPods feature a H1 chip, “Hey Siriā€ always on, up to 5 hours of listening time (on one charge) and more than 24 hours of listening time (with Charging Case).
