The OnePlus 8 has been on the leaks radar for a long time. In fact, the first CAD render of the series hit the interwebs as the company was still stocking inventory for sales of the OnePlus 7T Pro. Now, the OnePlus 8 Pro has received its first benchmark likely for the very first time on Geekbench revealing some internals of the flagship phone.

Just like any other phone before its launch, the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro also gets listed on Geekbench, probably because it is being tested by the company. According to the listing, the next Pro device from OnePlus will bear the model number GALILEI IN2023 and will run Android 10 out of the box (as expected). Unsurprisingly, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor clocked at 1.8GHz. Moreover, the model that was tested featuring 12GB of RAM, however, there could very well be a lower variant with 8GB RAM.

Gizchina News of the week

Taling about the scores clocked by the phone, the OnePlus 8 Pro gains 4296 points in the single-core test and 12531 points in the multi-core test. That is impressive compared to the OnePlus 7T series from last year with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus. Unfortunately, that is all the information we know about this phone apart from the design leak from a few months back which revealed the device to sport a punch-hole display.

Till 2018, OnePlus used to launch two phones per year but that changed in 2019 when the company announced the Pro model. Thus, the number of phones for a year bumped to four excluding two McLaren Editions. That said, in 2020, we might see even more phones from the company as they are planning to launch a ‘Lite’ variant of OnePlus 8 as per recent leaks.
