Recently, the China Information and Communication Technology Academy released the ‘Analysis Report on the Operation of the Domestic Mobile Phone Market in December 2019’. It turns out there have been 35 models launched in the last month of 2019. Among them, the shipment of 5G smartphones was 5.414 million, and 11 new 5G mobile phones were listed. For the full year of 2019, the total domestic smartphone market shipment was 389 million units. As for 5G phone shipments, they sold over 13.769 million units.
Many forecast agencies have estimated that in 2020 Huawei will lead the global 5G market, followed by Apple, and Samsung.

Previously, IDC reported that that Chinese smartphone shipments will return to positive growth in 2020, with a year-on-year increase of 0.7%. In 2020, there will be more than 20% of 5G smartphones priced under 2,000 yuan ($290). By 2021, 20% of commercial smartphones will be connected via 5G.
According to the ‘China Mobile 2020 Terminal Product Plan’, the scale of the 5G smartphone market is expected to exceed 150 million units in 2020. The terminal price will drop to 1,000-1500 yuan ($145 – $218) in the fourth quarter of 2020.
