Although the Huawei P40 Pro is still some months away from getting unveiled, leaks regarding the upcoming device appear to be popping up every other day.
This time, a new detail about the handset comes renown leakster @evleaks. He does indeed claim the P40 Pro will be available in a ceramic variant:
Huawei P40 Pro Will be Available in a Ceramic Edition (Leak)
Evan Blass also suggests the ceramic design is “inspired” by the Samsung Galaxy S10+ but actually we’ve seen ceramic phones as early as April 2017; we’re talking about the Xiaomi Mi 6. Needless to say, the ceramic edition will have both a premium feel and price coming with it.
Gizchina News of the week
Other than a beautiful ceramic body, current reports show that the P40 Pro will be packing a 6.5 to 6.7-inch screen with four curved sides. The smartphone will then be powered by a Huawei Kirin 990 5G. A chipset that supports SA and NSA dual-mode 5G; making the P40 Pro the first 5G phone in the “P” series. The CPU also uses the industry’s most advanced 7nm + EUV process and integrates 5G Modem into the SOC for the first time.
Meanwhile on the photography side, we’ll probably see an upgrade to a 51.2MP RYYB CMOS sensor custom made by Sony (with a 13MP four Bayer array); paired with an 8MP periscope telephoto lens to achieve 10 times optical zoom.
However, other key features of the P40 series such as support for high refresh rates, battery capacity, full-screen technology solution (notch, hole-punch, pop-up cameras) and more are still unknown.
