While Xiaomi is busy delivering MIUI 11 updates to all eligible smartphones in the Globe, the company still has other responsibilities. One of them is to provide updates for the handsets that are part of the Android One program. These handsets achieved big popularity in the past years. After all, they brought Xiaomi’s hardware, loved by many fans in the mid-range segment, alongside pure vanilla Android. We all know, that fancy MIUI isn’t the cup of tea of everyone. Yesterday, the Chinese firm has begun distributing the Android 10 update for the Xiaomi Mi A2. Many fans started to ask, when the newer model, the Xiaomi Mi A3 will receive the same treatment. Thankfully, they won’t need to wait much longer.
Xiaomi usually keeps a low profile when it comes to providing information about the availability of Android 10 for their handsets. However, the company has responded to one of its fans via an official Twitter account about the availability of Android 10 for the Mi A3. According to the post, the company will release the latest version of the Green Robot’s OS in Mid-February.
Gizchina News of the week
Those are definitely great news for all the fans of the Android One smartphone. Worth noting that Android 10 is available since September last year. So it’s a little weird to see an Android One handset getting it several months later. After all, it goes against the proposal of Android One – Delivering fast Android updates, since there are no bloatware or company’s specific adjustments to delay the process. However, this isn’t happening with Xiaomi Android One devices.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 divided fans of the succesful Android One lineup
The Xiaomi Mi A3 is the company’s third device to come with Android One label and probably the most controversial one. It does include an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner, however, Xiaomi opted for an HD+ pentile AMOLED to keep the low price point. The handset ships with Snapdragon 665 SoC and has 4GB of RAM with up to 128GB of Storage. Xiaomi fans weren’t very enthusiastic at the release, especially with the price of the handset.
