Huawei will unveil two new foldable smartphones in 2020. The already awaited Mate Xs will improve the resistance of the first foldable smartphone of the manufacturer. While the second foldable phone will be placed in competition with the alleged Galaxy Z Flip.
2019 was not finally the year of foldable smartphones. That said, the lessons of the first models have been taken. In addition, the second wave is about to hit the year 2020.
Huawei is preparing for this with its Mate Xs, an improved version of its first model which will have the latest Kirin 990. However, these are not the only things it prepares according to MyDrivers.
HUAWEI MATE XS WOULD BE CHEAPER AND MORE RESISTANT
We know that the Mate Xs will be present at MWC 2020 next month. What we didn’t necessarily know is how the smartphone will improve the basic formula of the product.
Gizchina News of the week
MyDrivers indicates from internal industry sources that Huawei has reviewed its foldable smartphone in several ways. The most important thing is that the new screen of this model is easier to produce and can be made in larger quantities, making it possible to produce more devices at a lower price.
Its hinge is also expected to be more resistant. The entire smartphone would therefore be less fragile. It also seems that the Mate Xs will be a little thinner than the original.
A SECOND FOLDABLE IN THE YEAR
The same source said that the Mate Xs would not be the only foldable smartphone planned by the brand this year. Following the Motorola Razr and Galaxy Z Flip, Huawei would also have decided to release a flip smartphone in the same vein as these two examples. This would be expected at the end of the year, the period when the new Mates are generally presented.
This would show that Huawei is betting a lot on foldable smartphones in 2020. All of these innovations are likely to happen despite that the relations between the manufacturer and the US government are getting worse day by day.
