OnePlus 8 Pro: official video shows 120Hz screen potential

OnePlus 8

OnePlus is preparing to take a new leap in the smoothness with which you navigate your screens. As announced last week, the company will be betting on 120Hz refresh rate displays in its next high-end.

Now, OnePlus CEO has shared a video on Twitter where a 60Hz screen is put into action against one of 120Hz. As you will see from the video, the smoothness of the 120Hz screen is incredibly higher.

This is the kind of feature that is difficult to capture on camera at normal speed. However, when you slow down the video, you can clearly tell the difference in usage.

OnePlus 8 Pro should combine 2K screen with 120Hz refresh rate

Gizchina News of the week

At this time, it is not known on which devices OnePlus will implement the 120Hz. OnePlus 8 Pro will definitely have the functionality, and it is likely to be able to reach OnePlus 8. It could reach the latter with only FullHD+ resolution. The OnePlus Lite should be around 90Hz.

Remember that OnePlus 8 Pro must combine 120Hz with WQHD+ (2K) resolution. It is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S20 will also offer this refresh rate, but limiting it to FullHD+.

OnePlus was not the first in the market to bet on 90Hz nor will it be the first to bet on 120Hz. But it was one of the companies that pushed for this refresh rate increase to be implemented by more brands and seems to continue to do so.

It is worth to mention that at CES 2020 conference, OnePlus has unveiled the Concept One smartphone. One of the major highlights of this device is the invisible camera. According to a recent report, this technology may soon be arriving on flagship smartphones. OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau in an interview with The Verge confirmed that the company has plans to introduce its new camera innovation to flagship devices. However, he wasn’t specific as to when such a phone will be available.
