Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha lands in India for the first time


Remember Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone with a 360-degree surround screen? The same device that currently stands as Xiaomi’s most expensive smartphone? The one that is yet to hit the market…We are talking about the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha. Recent reports claim that this smartphone has touched down in India for the first time. However, Indian fans should not get their hopes up, it may never hit the shelves in the country.

According to the report, Xiaomi India officials stated that Xiaomi will launch more top digital products in India in 2020. In fact, 2020 will be the year when Xiaomi’s flagship brand will enter the Indian market. To buttress its claim, the company showcased the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha in India for the first time.

Relevant personnel from Xiaomi India Raghu Reddy and Sumit Sonal confirmed that the MIX Alpha may not be sold in the Indian market. First, the phone needs to be imported from China and it will be very expensive. Yes, it cost over 200,000 Indian rupees ($2820).

Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha succinct details

On September 24 last year, Xiaomi officially released the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha 5G concept phone. This phone comes with a screen ratio of 180.6%. It supports 5G dual card, 108MP main camera in a triple camera setup and the price is 19,999 yuan ($2889). However, the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha is yet to hit the shelves.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha 5G concept phone uses a 360-degree surround screen design. It, therefore, eliminates the phone front camera and side buttons. Only 2.15 mm space is on the chin and forehead; its side can display battery power, and system information. The antennas on both sides are driven by dual display chips, both support pressure sensitivity and built-in side linear motors. In addition, it uses a flexible on-screen fingerprint sensor an ultrasonic distance sensor.

Xiaomi MIX Alpha 5G comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chip, which supports 5G. It uses 12GB of RAM and 512GB UFS 3.0 internal storage. The battery capacity is 4050 mAh (nano silicon negative battery) which supports 40W wired flash charge. This device also comes with a large 1.0cc sound cavity.

The MIX Alpha 5G concept phone uses Samsung s 108MP ultra-high-definition main camera. The camera’s photosensitive size is 1 / 1.33 inches, the aperture is F / 1.69, and the pixel area is 1.6 μm. The picture size can reach 40MB and at the same time support OIS four-axis optical image stabilization.
