PlayStation 5: Dualshock 5 will be compatible with the PS4

The PS5 Dualshock 5 will be compatible with the PS4. This is what seems to affirm the site of Playstation France in a comparative table between the PS4 and the PS4 Pro.

There are only a few days left between the players and the official PS5 presentation on February 5, 2020. This event should, hopefully, lift the veil on a lot of information such as the design of the console, controller, interface, certain features, technical sheet and exclusives.

Among the mysteries surrounding the Playstation 5, there is its controller: the Dualshock 5. For now, only some information about it has leaked on the net. The Wired site has, for example, confirmed that the controller would have more sophisticated haptic feedback, for better immersion. In addition, the controller would have triggers offering a lot of new functions.

Gizchina News of the week

Now, we have new information, to be taken with caution. According to the Playstation France site, the Dualshock 5 controller for the PS5 is compatible with the PS4 and PS4 Pro. This information is available on a table on the French branch of the site of the manufacturer. In this comparison of the performance of the PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, we notice “Dualshock compatibility” with a double mention: DS4/DS5.

These acronyms obviously mean Dualshock 4 and Dualshock 5. For the time being, we can’t find this double-mention anywhere other than on the Playstation France site. No trace on Playstation UK or Playstation US.

In any case, the best is to wait for this event scheduled for February 5, 2020, to finally know all the details about the Playstation 5 and its accessories. Jim Ryan, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said there are still a lot of features to explore. What do you think about this possible compatibility?
